TouchDesigner is the go-to tool for artists making everything from stage visuals to interactive art. If you’ve been wanting to dive in but the interface looks intimidating, this workshop is for you. We’re skipping the long lectures and going straight to building.

We’ll start with a blank file and quickly get a working system running. You’ll learn how to move data around, play with 2D/3D shapes, and make your art react to music or movement.

What we’re covering:

  • The Basics: Getting comfortable with the interface and the main operator families (TOPs, CHOPs, and the new POPs)
  • Making Art: Building out visual systems from scratch without getting bogged down
  • Audio-Reactivity: Syncing your visuals to sound
  • Interaction: Connecting inputs to make your work actually respond to the world

What you’ll need:

  • TouchDesigner 2025.32xxx (win/mac, free version is fine)
  • A 3-button mouse (mouse wheel)
  • Bring your own lunch (you can order as well but there’s no restaurants nearby)
