Residency

pixel.forest() invites artists, cultural practitioners, and creative technologists from across Europe to develop ideas, deepen practice, and connect across borders through residencies and mobility projects supported by the Creative Europe – Culture Moves Europe: Individual Mobility 2025–2026 programme.

This initiative encourages cross-border artistic exchange, offering funding to cover travel and living costs for creatives planning to work abroad with a partner organisation in another Creative Europe country. Projects can include research, collaboration, creation, and professional development outside your country of residence.

What We Offer

At pixel.forest(), residencies and mobility projects can take place within our studio, experimental spaces, and community in Berlin, where you’ll find:

  • Dedicated time and space for focused practice
  • Access to our co-working environment and tech lab
  • Opportunities to test, prototype, and share work

We especially encourage residents to present work-in-progress or finished projects in the course of our ongoing meet-up and event series “dispatch”, fostering exchange and feedback within the community.

Who Can Apply

We welcome applications from creatives active in digital art, interactive media, audiovisual practice, creative coding, performance, installation, and beyond. Since pixel.forest() is based in Germany, we can only host residents who are currently based outside of Germany and are applying to spend their mobility period here.

How to Apply / Get Involved

If you are planning a Culture Moves Europe – Individual Mobility application and want to be hosted at pixel.forest(), get in touch with:

  • a brief project outline
  • your motivation and goals
  • an idea of how you’d like to engage with our community (e.g., dispatch)

We’re happy to support you with letters of invitation and advice on planning a residency that connects your practice with our space.
